One of the best things about these screws is their length. At 1-1/4 inches, they're long enough to provide excellent holding power for connecting 3/4" soft woods. They also have a coarse thread that grips the wood tightly, ensuring a strong and secure joint.
Another great feature of these screws is their flat-bottomed head. This design allows the screws to sit flush with the surface of the wood, making them ideal for use in visible areas of your project where aesthetics are important.
Finally, the Kreg 1-1/4 inch pocket hole screws are very affordable, and the cost per screw is quite reasonable. This makes them an excellent value for anyone who frequently uses pocket hole joints in their woodworking projects.
In conclusion, the Kreg 1-1/4 inch pocket hole screws are an outstanding product that I would highly recommend to any woodworker. Their length, coarse thread, flat-bottomed head, ease of use, and affordability make them an excellent choice for creating strong and secure pocket hole joints in your woodworking projects.

I've used other pocket-hole screws, though not many. What got me to rely on Kreg's screws was simple. They are reliable, and they don't cost a lot, especially in volume. I'd purchased a number of 100-count boxes before, but finally decided it was time to commit. I'll probably need two more 500-count boxes before I'm done with my shop cabinets.
The only thing I think I'd consider changing on these if given the option is to make them torx drive instead. In fact, I think everything needs to go to torx drive. It's just a superior drive type to all the others. Second would be square, which these are.
They are superb in pocket hole applications.

Just watch out for the sharp plastic tags left on the box when you break the corner seals - I just snagged my finger on this pack tearing the seal tab off, but didn't draw blood this time. Every pack of these I open I seem to snag myself on the corner tabs taking the lid off.
These 11/4" screws are suitable if you want to join 1x wood (that is actually 3/4" thick) - I'm currently using these on some 1x6 dressed pine planks to make some bedside tables. They're also the coarse thread variety, so suitable for softer woods like plywood, pine (1x6, 1x8, 1x4 planed planks, 3/4" ply for example) etc.
As usual with Kreg screws and their jigs, they work great. Nice 'bite' with these coarse thread ones and they create a really strong joint - I'm always kind of amazed how strong. I just finished building a kingsize bed for us and pretty much used all kreg pocket hole screws on that for both keeping screw holes hidden and strength. It's rock solid! Needed a resupply for the current project of 2 matching bedside tables, and these big boxes are a good deal.
If you're new to pocket holes: remember to try and avoid drilling a pocket hole through a knot and keep your drill or driver on a pretty low torque setting - otherwise you'll split the wood and/or wind these right through the pocket hole. I normally use a drill to drive these in, with the torque set only on 1-2, I find that's enough. If in doubt be gentle, you can always tighten up a bit more if you need to - not so easy to repair a split ;)
Using that advice which was given to me when I started using a Kreg jig, I've done over a thousand pocket holes using various length Kreg screws, and never had one split out yet (touch wood!).
Hope that helps.
