Affiliate & Partnership Disclosure

Last updated: May 12, 2026

Rogue Engineer LLC is a participant in several affiliate marketing programs and may receive a commission when you click certain links on this site and make a qualifying purchase. This page exists to disclose those relationships in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsement disclosure (16 CFR Part 255).

What this means for you

The price you pay is never higher because of an affiliate link. You don’t pay more, and you’re not charged extra. Where we do receive a commission, the retailer pays it out of their own margin.

Affiliate programs we participate in

  • Amazon Services LLC Associates Program — As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Rogue Engineer LLC is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
  • The Home Depot affiliate program (when active) — We may earn commissions on qualifying purchases made through Home Depot product links.
  • Other retailer affiliate programs — Including but not limited to Lowe’s, Kreg Tool, Rockler, Woodcraft, and various tool and material brands, where we have an active affiliate relationship.

Sponsored content

From time to time we publish content that is sponsored by a brand. When we do, we will clearly disclose the sponsorship at the top of the post or in the body of the content, in language such as “Sponsored by [Brand]” or “This post is sponsored by [Brand]”.

We only accept sponsorships for tools, materials, or services we have used and would recommend regardless of the sponsorship. Sponsorship does not buy our opinion — if a sponsored tool turned out to be poorly made, we’d say so.

Product gifts and review samples

Manufacturers occasionally send us tools, materials, or other products free of charge for review. When we publish content about a product that was provided free of charge, we will note that the product was a gift or review sample, typically in the form “[Brand] provided this tool for review” or similar.

Receiving a free product does not obligate us to write a positive review.

YouTube and video content

Our videos on YouTube and other platforms may include affiliate links in the description and may include paid product placements. We disclose paid placements in compliance with each platform’s policies — typically with both the platform’s built-in “paid promotion” tag and a verbal or on-screen disclosure within the video itself.

Display advertising

This site may display advertising served by a third-party ad network. Those ads are not endorsements of the advertised products or services, and we do not control which ads are shown to which visitors. The ad network’s data and privacy practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

Your trust matters more than any commission

If we recommend something, we use it. If we sell something, we made it. We disclose every relationship the FTC requires us to disclose, and several more besides. If anything on this site is unclear, please contact us at [email protected].
