Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to purchases of digital downloads (plans, PDFs, templates, and other digital products) from Rogue Engineer LLC at rogueengineer.com.

Our policy in one sentence

All sales of digital downloads are final. Because of the nature of digital goods, we do not offer refunds once the product has been delivered.

Why

When you purchase a plan from us, a downloadable file is made available to your account immediately. Once that file has been delivered, it cannot be “returned” — you have a copy of it on your device. Issuing a refund for a delivered digital good is functionally a free copy, which we can’t sustain as a small business.

Exceptions where we will issue a refund

We will issue a full refund in the following cases:

  • Duplicate purchase — You accidentally bought the same plan twice on the same order or within 24 hours.
  • Wrong product purchased — You purchased Plan A but intended to purchase Plan B, and you have not downloaded Plan A yet. Contact us within 24 hours of purchase.
  • Plan does not match its description — If a plan delivers something materially different from what its product page describes, we’ll either replace it with a corrected version, refund you, or both.
  • Technical issue preventing delivery — If you completed checkout and the download is not accessible to your account, contact us and we’ll either fix the delivery or refund the purchase.

To request a refund under one of the above conditions, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase with your order number and a brief description of the issue.

What we do not refund

  • “I changed my mind” — once you’ve downloaded the file, it’s yours.
  • “I bought the wrong plan and already downloaded it” — we cannot un-deliver a digital file.
  • “I couldn’t complete the build” — our plans are detailed but DIY skill levels vary. We do not refund based on build difficulty. See our Disclaimer for what to expect.
  • “The plan doesn’t fit my space / materials / tools” — please review the plan dimensions, materials list, and tool requirements on the product page before purchasing. Most product pages include a free preview of the cover and a description of the cut list.

Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback with your credit card company or PayPal without first contacting us, we may:

  • Permanently revoke your account’s download access
  • Block your email address from future purchases
  • Cooperate with the card network’s dispute process by providing the order record, the watermarked PDF (if applicable), and a copy of this Refund Policy

If you have a problem with a purchase, please email [email protected] first. We’d rather work it out with you directly than involve your card issuer.

Free downloads

Free downloads have no purchase price, and therefore there is nothing to refund. The license terms in our Plan License still apply.
