Rogue Engineer LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at rogueengineer.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it.
By using the Site you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Information we collect
1. Information you give us directly
- Account information — name, email address, password (hashed) when you create an account.
- Order information — name, email, billing address, and order contents when you make a purchase. Payment card numbers are processed by our payment processor (see below); we never see or store full card numbers.
- Email signups — email address (and optionally name) when you subscribe to our newsletter or download a free lead-magnet plan.
- Contact form submissions — name, email, and message contents when you write to us.
2. Information collected automatically
- Analytics data — pages visited, time on page, referring URL, device type, browser, country (city-level), via Google Analytics 4. IP addresses are not stored by GA4 — Google strips them at collection.
- Cookies and similar tracking — see the “Cookies” section below.
- Server logs — basic web-server logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamp, requested URL) are retained for short periods for security and debugging.
3. Information from third parties
- We do not buy email lists or collect personal data about you from data brokers.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Process and deliver your orders, grant downloadable file access, and send order-related transactional emails
- Send you marketing emails if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every marketing email)
- Respond to your contact-form messages and customer-support requests
- Analyze site usage to improve our content and product offering
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, security incidents, and abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share your information with
We share information only with the service providers we need to run the business. Each is bound by their own privacy practices, linked below:
- Stripe — payment processing (only data needed to complete the transaction). Stripe Privacy Policy
- Google Analytics 4 — site usage analytics. Google Privacy Policy
- Our email service provider (Kit / ConvertKit / similar) — sending transactional and marketing emails to subscribers.
- Our hosting provider (BigScoots) — storing the Site files and database.
- Law enforcement or regulators — only when required by valid legal process.
We do not share, rent, sell, or trade your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Cookies and tracking
A cookie is a small file stored on your device by your browser. We use cookies to:
- Keep you logged in to your account

- Measure site usage via Google Analytics
- Identify returning visitors so we can tailor content
Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies. Doing so may break parts of the Site (the shopping cart, account login). Browser-specific instructions:

California (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have additional rights, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. Data retention
- Order records — retained for as long as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes)
- Account information — retained for as long as your account is active, deleted on request (subject to the order-record retention above)
- Email subscriber data — retained until you unsubscribe, then suppressed but not deleted (to prevent re-subscription without your consent)

Security
We use industry-standard measures (TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, restricted database access) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we will notify you if a breach affecting your data occurs, as required by law.
