How to Build a Corn Hole Scoreboard with Drink Holder
Step 1: Cut the Boards
The scoreboard is made of 2 boards cut at 10-1/4″ wide by 42″ long. This can be a done using a table saw.
Step 2: Cut the Feet
I measured 2″ in from the sides and bottom for a cut out to create the feet. I used a roll of tape to create the curve for the corners.
Step 3: Cut out the Cup Holders
Cut two boards at 4″ x 10-1/4″ and one at 1-1/2″ x 4″ for the vertical support.
Then mark the cut outs for the drink holders (about 3″ in diameter) on one board and round off the corners. Once I started cutting I decided to round them vs the 45 shown below. I also added a slot for a wine glass which wasn’t really necessary since the opening for the drink was so wide already.
Step 4: Drill the Holes
I drew straight lines down one of the boards, spaced equally from the sides. Then I found center, marked it on each line and spaced 22 holes 1-1/2″ apart. Find the right drill bit for the tees you are using. Practice on a scrap piece of wood to make sure you’re happy with the fit.
Step 5: Assemble the Drink Holder
First, I drilled pocket holes on the underside of the top and bottom boards used for the drink holder.
Then, with I glued and nailed it together with 1-1/4″ brad nails.
Step 6: Finish and Assemble
I started off by painting where the two stripes would go with yellow exterior paint. Then I taped off straight lines centered over the holes with 2″ painters tape and painted the boards and drink holder blue.
Then, once the paint was dry, I installed the drink holder using 1-1/4″ pocket screws.
Next I added 1″ white adhesive numbers to the board in between each hole.
Finally, I installed the hinges to the inside of the boards. If I had to do it over again I would have attached the drink holder last to make the hinge installation a little easier. With the drink holder on the boards wont lay flat.
