Root Vegetable Storage Bin

DIY Root Vegetable Storage Bin - Free Plans - Rogue Engineer

A few weeks back I posted the plans for the herb garden I made for my wife, Jamie. Well, here is another simple project geared towards cooking and the kitchen. This simple root vegetable storage bin provides some much needed storage for our potatoes, onions, garlic, etc. and, well, it looks good too! I’ve posted the step-by-step plans here but make sure to check out the build photos that I’ve posted over on Remodelaholic!

Jamison,

So the top is a 1×8 and the back, bottom and sides are 1x10s?

I’d love to build one of these for our pantry, just want to make sure I’m reading it right.

(Thanks for all the great building plans you publish. I made the beer case for my husband and it turned out great.)

I hate cutting angles, but somehow I managed to get this right. 🙂 Thanks for attaching the cut list too. It helps!

This is really cute, but I just wanted to note that potatoes and onions should not be stored together as onions emit a gas that hastens the break down of the potatoes; so you would need separate bins for them. Garlic bulbs and onions can be stored together without a problem.
