Twin Storage Bed
When coming up with a design for this bed, we wanted it to be simple to build, good looking, and functional. So that is exactly what we came up with. For about $200 you can build this twin bed with tons of storage. Whether you choose to use only two drawers on one side or shorten the drawers to accommodate a night stand you’ll still have a ton of storage for all the things.
This twin bed is the perfect first bed for your little one but can be easily modified for any size mattress so anyone that needs a bed with tons of storage would be happy with this one.

Hi Jamison,
Great plan but it would be really useful to us living outside of the US & Canada, i.e. the rest of the world if you could include metric measurements in your plans.
Can you post the plans to build this as a queen bed? Thanks!
Wow!! Watching the twin storage bed video. What is the machine that Jamie fed 2x4s into at 1:48-:51 in the video. What does it do? Square up all sides?
Golly—really hope you answer! 🙂
That is a thickness planer. It trims the board to a set thickness leaving a smoother, cleaner face. And if you take off enough you can get rid of those rounded edges
Awesome!! I’m looking at the WEN 6550 12.5-Inch 15A Benchtop Thickness Planer with Granite Table on Amazon for $250. Before I order I wanted to get your thoughts and check if you have a link that would get y’all some $$ for the recommendation! I’d be happy to buy thru you as long as it doesn’t cost me more than the $250 😉
I can’t vouch for that model personally but I will say that a planer is a great purchase and that one appears to have great reviews. Thank you so much for asking for my affiliate link. Here ya go: http://amzn.to/2E1I8kw
Ok! Hopefully last question, but your response made me think: do you think I’d be better off 3-blade model vs the 2-blade? Or do you have a brand/model that you do personally recommend?
I use the Rigid 13″ planer and love it. It’s a 3 blade and it has this cut indicator that shows you how much you are going to take off before you run it through which I really like and use a lot. BUT it is about $100 more. I’ve never used a 2 blade so I can’t really compare the two.
