Double Golf Locker
Quick answer: This double golf locker stores two full bags plus shoes and gear in one clean plywood cabinet — two open bays with a center divider, shelves, and a face frame that makes it look furniture-grade in the garage. Many years back I built a simple single golf locker and it has been really nice to have, keeping all my golf gear together. Within the past couple years my wife has shown an interest in golf and now with the new golf simulator I knew I was going to need a double golf locker to hold all of our things. Not only is it a great place to store clubs out of the way, but with the shelves we can also house golf shoes, hats and extra gear in between rounds and in the off season. Read on to see how this quick and easy project came together.

For this project we decided to go with Behr’s tintable semi-transparent deck stain in the color Wood Chip. I like using this because it hides a lot of the grain that can sometimes be not so attractive when staining plywood, and it waterproofs the locker all in one step.
I also added some turf to the bottom. This was cut from a doormat I found on Amazon and looks great.

How big should a golf locker be for two bags?
Give each bag a bay roughly 15+ inches wide and deep, and around 50+ inches of clear height with drivers in — this build’s two divided bays handle full cart bags with shelf space above for shoes, balls, and gloves.
What is the face frame for?
Looks and stiffness: solid-wood face framing hides the plywood edges, squares up the cabinet, and takes the daily bag-drop abuse better than bare ply edging — it’s the difference between shop-cabinet and furniture.
Only have room (or bags) for one?
The original single golf locker builds from one sheet of plywood in a day — same idea, one bay, smaller footprint.
What finish should a garage golf locker get?
Stain plus polyurethane, or paint plus poly — either way the topcoat is what stands up to wet bags and muddy shoes. Match whatever your garage cabinets or mudroom built-ins wear.
